Our Process

As part of our ongoing commitment to you, we want you to feel involved during each phase this of ownership. This next section outlines every phase and milestone of the installation process – from inspection to applying for your rebates.

It’s important to us that our customers have a clear understanding of the entire procedure. We want you to feel comfortable with, and involved in, every step along the way.

Step 1

EcoEnergy Home Audit

Your first step is to arrange for your EcoEnergy Home audit. We need this approval to be completed before we can start the installation process.

You can find a qualified energy advisor in your area by calling 1 800 O-Canada (1 800 622-6232) or 1 800 926-9105 for the hearing impaired. You can also find one at Natural Resources Canada’s website at http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca

Step 2

Our Pre-installation Inspection

This phase typically will begin within 2 weeks of your EcoEnergy Home audit.

We begin to measure sheet metal for pre-fabrication at our shop. We will also stake the best location for the ground loop, as well as arrange for the locations for utilities.

Step 3

The Ground Loop Installation

The installation of your ground loop is the most involved step of the process. It has the most variables, so it’s difficult to chart exactly how long it will take.

Please consult our installation link, for a list of standard times

Step 4

Equipment Installation

Within 2 weeks of loop installation, we will begin to install your heat pump and any other applicable equipment. This is a relatively short process and typically takes 2-3 days.

Step 5

System Check and Review

To ensure the installation process is complete, we run everything through a start-up checklist. This may happen the same day the installation is complete, but may also be arranged for another day. This stage is also where we begin the completion of CSAA448 system verification, which you need for your rebate.

Step 6

Final Administrative Tasks

If the project is being financed, this is where all the final paperwork is signed. If not, this is generally when the final balance is paid.

Step 7

Your Rebate Process

We provide you with your paid invoice, as well as your CSA488 System Verification. Next, you need to schedule your EcoEnergy post retro-fit inspection. After your inspection, you will need to mail your CSA488 System Verification, and a cheque for $125.00, to the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition to receive your $8750.00 rebate.
